Sun Bingo – B.I.N.G.O.

13 August 2007 by Silky

There are simply no words to describe the following advert for the Sun newspaper’s online bingo game.

Oh sweet Jesus, save us all…

Update

After some sterling work by other readers (see comments below) TVs Worst Adverts can now bring you the lyrics to this televisual advertisement abomination:

B.I.N.G.O.
It is B. Brought by the Sun.
It is I. On the Internet.
It is N. Never boring.
It is G. Great chatrooms.
It is O. Online.
B.I.N.G.O.

Watch out for the writers at this years Ivor Novello Awards.

    Truly shit.

  • Said on the 11 September 2007

Yeah but have you seen the other bingo ads out there like the FOxy bingo ad. I’d suggest looking at some of the bingo comparison sites and using their info – user reviews and comparisons of the offers etc rather than just expecting a shit ad for online bingo to generate new players. Word on the street is that The Sun is doing Ok but that must just be down to their huge database

  • Said on the 11 September 2007

Check out bingo alerts for all the best online bingo deals. There are defo better ads for online bingo out there than Sun

  • Said on the 13 September 2007

    Hey Carly,

I’d love to complain about the shameless advertising for Bingo Alerts that you’ve left in the comments of this post but then I remembered that allow Google to place ads on this site in exchange for huge sums of cash… so I don’t really have a leg to stand on.

Maybe a little more subtlety in the future though, hey?

    Cheers, Silky.

I have to say that I dont mind people telling me about websites that could be useful to me and I did go to bingo alerts at Carlys prompting and found it to be a good site with loads of useful info and offers. Its the shameless plugging of useless sites that annoys me. At least Carly was on topic!!

what does the blonde girl say? not only does the advert annoy me but not knowing what she says is worse. is it something to do with broadband? arrrghgrh!

  • Said on the 25 September 2007

I think Jon, but I may be wrong, that she says “It broadbandsome”.

Which is obviously complete gibberish… but then what do you expect from a Sun reader.

    Ooh, cutting.

    Hi,

Does anyone know if these are real actors in the ad? I think I recognise an old friend!!

  • Said on the 12 October 2007

I to have been wondering for ages what the crapping hell that blonde girl says, it bugged me sooo much! But I think she is saying “brought by the sun” If it’s not brought it’s something like that but she is definitely saying “by the sun”. But it is the shitest advert I’ve seen for a while

  • Said on the 12 October 2007

Natalie, you may be onto something there, at least that kinda makes sense. I will now be able to slit my wrists with a clear conscience. hehe. But I think we may need to get Lizzie to ask her friend what is being said..

  • Said on the 12 October 2007

I dont think its what the people in the ad are saying I think its the constant chanting of B.I.N.G.O which makes me want to thrown my kitten through the TV. I know how to spell the word, so why cant they just say it. Plus those girls in the ad are clearly too stupid to knwo how to turn a computer on let alone work out how to deposit money on their credit card!!

  • Said on the 12 October 2007

Its brought by the sun. Why didn’t they just say bingo for b?

  • Said on the 12 October 2007

The one saving grace of this rather irritating advert is that the ‘never boring’ woman is really, really cute!!! Or am I on my own with that one!?

  • Said on the 12 October 2007

    what is that woman saying

  • Said on the 12 October 2007

If you read from the top down or even bottom up you can usually get the gist of a thread. But just in case, I originally asked what the blonde girl says in the Sun B.I.N.G.O advert (what this thread is about). We think we have cracked it and she says (“it is B”) “Brought by the Sun”.

  • Said on the 12 October 2007

thats great that you cracked it, but why do they need to sing B.I.N.G.O. Also who is the composer of the music, he needs to be taken to the Hague and tried for crimes against humanity

  • Said on the 12 October 2007

    @Ellie

The reason that they are singing B.I.N.G.O. is because they are remaking/using/destroying the classic hit by Ottawan called D.I.S.C.O.

For the sake of completeness here are the original lyrics (oh God I can’t believe I’m posting this):

    D.I.S.C.O (3x)
    She is disco

    She is D delirious
    She is I incredible
    She is S superficial
    She is C complicated
She is O oh, oh, oh

    She is D desirable
    She is I irresistible
    She is S super sexy
She is C such a cute
She is O oh, oh, oh

    D.I.S.C.O.
    She is disco

    She is D disasters
    She is I impossible
    She is S super special
    She is C crazy, crazy
She is O oh, oh, oh

    She is D delightful
    She is I incredible
    She is S sensational
    She is C sweetest candy
She is O oh, oh, oh

    D.I.S.C.O
    She is disco

Ottawan are of course also famous for the classic hit “Hands Up”

That’s it! A shotgun or “Have I Got News For You” beckons – not too sure which.

    Bang!!

  • Said on the 13 October 2007

Thanks for that Mike… and let me reassure you that in no way does knowing the lyrics to D.I.S.C.O. by Ottawan bring shame on you or your family.

    Honest.

  • Said on the 15 October 2007

The blonde says “Broadband Sun”, I’m sure of it.
    Terrible ad.

  • Said on the 15 October 2007

It’s not so much the plonky ‘actors’ or what they are saying that gets me.

What I can’t figure out (and never will) is how Sarah Cox keeps getting so much voice over work when she’s got the WORST dippy female voice I’ve ever heard in my life!

    It just baffles me???

  • Said on the 24 October 2007

Is that the Shrek looking bloke from Hear Say in this ad??

  • Said on the 24 October 2007

That sun bingo advert is so shit and anoying .
Every thime it comes on I switch the channel over!
Get it off TV NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Said on the 28 October 2007

Re Fiestyfox 151007 – couldn’t agree more re Sarah Cox – I mean Sarah Cox is ok I suppose – but she comes accross a bit untalented – it’s hard to desribe her but I just don’t get how she is famous as a DJ or voice over – she isn’t that great – she is unfunny and makes childish cringeable comments and just sounds unprofessional and a bit lazy – can someone please tell me why she is slightly famous? I mean yes she comes from Bolton and used to go to Bedford High School in Leigh Lancashire (so I hear?) and her dad had a farm and she had a horse called Gus or summat and she has a dog called Snoop or summat (no idea how I know all these sad things??? – I just have a ridiculously good memory for stupid shit)

Also while we are supposed to be on the subject of bingo – I digressed – no I don’t think he is the Shrek type bloke from Hearsay on the Sun BINGO ad – I think he just looks like him and although the ad is pure shit it’s better than that Foxy bingo ad – now that is just fookin creepy!!!!!

but the girl who sings ‘never boring’ is quite fit.

    mr. shallow.

  • Said on the 7 November 2007

i’m in love the the brunette that says never boring. anyone know her name?

  • Said on the 12 November 2007

I quite fancy the “Never boring” girl.

    I don’t get out much.

  • Said on the 14 November 2007

Following another assault on my ears and eyes, I’ve just googled Sun Bingo Advert and got here. Thank goodness I found it as I now know it’s not just me. Reason for search is that I couldn’t for the life of me work out what the B was – it sounds like “Rob Anson” – who the hell is that? Thankfully the “Brought by the Sun” has explained this (though “Broadband Sun” was the best explanation I had worked out prior to that) and I won’t feel like someone who’s just heard nails scratching a blackboard anymore.

On another note, a friend once said to me “How can Sarah Cox have a job on the radio? I’ve never heard someone with so many speech impediments at the same time in my life”. I’ve never forgotten that and think of it every time I hear her voice.

I guess they couldn’t get that other voiceover favourite Mariella Fostrup to degrade herself by being part of a Sun ad.

No comment re “Hear’Say Guy”. His enthusiasm astounds me…

  • Said on the 16 November 2007

The “never boring” girl is indeed f*cking stunning. Something really sexy and cute comes across in that one short, but oh so sweet line!! We definitely need to find out who she is!!

  • Said on the 17 November 2007

Stef, glad you found us and glad that other advert haters could help you out.

Sara Cox does have an annoying voice but in a cutesy way that makes you think she’s good to her Mum, wouldn’t you say?

  • Said on the 22 November 2007

the guy at the end of the ad looks like Tuckers (todd carty’s) mate Benny from Grange Hill to me….

  • Said on the 30 November 2007

  • Said on the 26 February 2010

One of the girls in the ad is my daughter and who is laughing at who….she got paid good money for doing this ad and went on to do better and bigger things by it and it certainly got you arseholes talking about it, ( which is the idea of any ad )so he who laughs last laughs longest… by the way she probably has more brains than any of you put together and is now on 6 week vacation in Thai land thanks to all the money she has made ha ha ha …
