What really offends me about this ad is that an ugly bosseyed spaz is portrayed scoring with hot women (actually that’s the most annoying thing about all the Lynx ads, second only to the actual smell of Lynx).

Lynx is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant, so he will still be sweating like Gary Glitter in half-term even if he sprays a can under each armpit. Perhaps if he stayed off the E’s and wizz he’d be sweating less and his eyes would stay still.

I like this ad. It has stirred up a lot of debate and that can only be good. I am fascinated by the different reactions to it just as much as I am by the (apparent) genetic quirk exhibited by the main actor. I have to confess to being surprised at how some people link this astounding ability with its very opposite – a disability, but there you go, its a free world and we wouldn’t be discussing serious issues like stereotyping/prejudice/bullying etc if we didn’t have different perspectives on stuff. My own view is that disagreeing or disliking something all too often gets by-passed and we go straight to being ‘offended’ by it. I don’t doubt the honesty of that feeling and the right to have it, but I think we’d be richer if we displayed a wider repertoire of emotional reactions.

I can only guess all these people banging on about people with “eye disabilities” are joking. Right? No?

I mean, come on, you have to draw the line somewhere. Everything offends someone and intolerance thesedays has reached such epic proportions we’ll happily call out to “ban” virtually anything. I’m offended by advert for Jaguar ‘cos I can’t afford one. They are DISCRINIMATING against people who don’t have 30 grand for a car. BAN THE EVIL JAGUAR ADVERTS!

I hurt my back when I was younger in the 1980s and some of the kids at school (my friends, in fact) made up a mean song about it to the tune of a Bananarama song. Perhaps they should ban Bananarama songs, just in case the incident is repeated again?? No, perhaps not.

Get a grip people.

Just because you are subconcious about it doesnt give you the right to say that the people who made this “ADVERTISING TV BIT” deserve criticism. I mean seriously it ment to sell there product and its not a bad idea because i bet this advert on its own brought in a hell of customers, probly making more money then all of you moaners have made in your entire lives.

right… let me just quickly say something… 1. the guys eyes do “NOT” wander without his controll (thus meaning it isnt making fun of your disabliltys, grow up everyone has problems just because you cant deal with something that could be mistaken for yours doesnt mean you have to bitch and moan), he looks at his own damn armpits to check if there sweaty (i honnestly believe if you dont get that you must have an average IQ of about… what 10?).
Secondly why the hell are you picking out the most tiny insignificant little bits off it! if it freaks you out sure, dont watch it but all you people out there hating it id just like to say.. “ITS AN ADVERT” not a licence for you to bitch and moan!

I hate all the Lynx adverts, their message seems to be most women are so stupid you need Lynx to pull them, otherwise they sneer and flounce off…the latest offering of the twat with the eyeballs is just another pathetic attempt at driving home the idea that guys need Lynx to get laid when the reality is that all they need is money…

For people who suffer eye disabilities, this ad is really offensive. I echo Hugh’s comments – children who suffer with squints / lazy eyes will find it upsetting, and it gives bullies more material. I think it’s sloppy advertising, lacks creativity, and Lynx and their agency should be ashamed of themselves.

If you share my view, click here and complain – otherwise Lynx will think something like this is acceptable,

Its obvious that some people have a severe case of Eye Retardation where instead of seeing the point the advert makes of a guy who “cant help but look to see if he is sweating” they make up stories about what the advert is about. Why don’t you all sue and use the money you make to go live on some island together, you can have eye wobbling competitions and have arguments about who’s eyeing up who’s ass. You could call the island wobtroplolis.
