Hi all….I have had a very good laugh reading all these comments regarding the adverts…HA-HA. I’d also just like to say, Car spotter is one of the worst adverts ever. Like you all say, why on earth do we need to know what OUR own car is worth? Unless it’s over 10 years old and you have forgotten what you paid for it 10 years back plus deducting depreciation, then who’d care anyway lol. Same with Postal Gold…I actually did that, sent in a whooping big bag of Gold I had, and they sent me a cheque for…….£19….I sent the cheque back and demanded my Gold!! Which took them 3 weeks to send me back, but I got it…I then went to a jewelers, and they weighed it, and offered me £392.50….That’s how much of a shitty scam Postal Gold is, they should ban the advert….Also another irratating advert has to be, “Webuyanycar.com” I also did this to see what they’d offer me.. A 2005 Audi A4 s.e…Roughly priced at £5000, they offered me..you ready?? £850.00, I nearly drove to their head office and run the fuckers over!!!!!

Another frightening and disturbing thought comes to mind. When you send them a request and If they have the facility, the GPS in your phone would tell them exactly where you and that car are. That has to be inot only an intrusion of privacy but depending what the owner might be up to at the time, could be somewhat embarassing.

One question comes to mind over this Dutch company selling values of British cars based on their Registration Number. Where did they get the registration database from! Is it possible that the DVLA will send you a copy, perhaps along with all the personal deatails of the owner included?

Yet another advert for this mindless drivel has appeared, this time some very shady man is walking down the street when he spots a car and decides to ‘look in the windows’ (see if it’s locked) then says to him self “nice car, wonder what that’s worth”

They obviously cannot and will not ever be able to make this ‘service’ appear any less shady then it is; for you next monotonous advert Car Spotter why not just show a group of yobs walking down the street, attacking an old man for his mobile then texting the reg of every car they pass until they have found one worth robbing – after all this IS what your service was intended for?

As for £1.50 a text, surely not? And they HAVE to send you two texts?

This is the most annoying advert ever. Aside from the fact that the fact that the advert is worded to make the viewer sound like an absolute moron, the service sounds like a bag of shite, not to mention that it’s going to cost £3 to send you the info, £1.50 of which is a complete waste of money – what is the ‘performance’ text going to say “this car goes like a belter” / “this car feels like you’re driving a tractor”?

The scenarios where you might want to use the service are so badly thought up it’s funny.
